Pol is a band made up of Dutch brothers Ruben and Matthijs. They’re drawn to the sound and feeling of the late '70s and early '80s new wave movement. They channel the emotional intensity and cold romanticism of that time into something distinctly their own, a blend of analog sound and fashion sensibility, translated into forms that extend beyond just music.
In 2023, they released their first self-titled EP. The collection featured songs like ‘Boys Are’ and ‘L’Amour Fait Mal’, firstly introducing their analog-driven edge. Their evolution continued with the singles ‘Masks’ and ‘The Chameleon’, which welcomed hints of new romantic theatricality.
In early 2024, they played their first headline show at a sold-out Bitterzoet in Amsterdam, joined on stage by Visage’s Logan Sky. They’ve been featured in Dutch media and were named one of the top acts at Eurosonic.
Beyond music, Ruben and Matthijs have a strong connection to high fashion, having worked with houses such as Saint Laurent, Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, Dior, and more. Their multidisciplinary approach combines sound and style into a single artistic language, one that feels both timeless and forward-facing.
